This notice explains, in plain English, how Rux Candles uses your personal information when you visit our shop or buy from us.

Who we are
Rux Candles is a trading name of ASTEY LTD, registered in England and Wales (company number 14278194), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for your information. Email: contact@asteyltd.com

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email, delivery and billing address, phone number (if you give it) and what you buy.
  • Payment: handled securely by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Messages you send us by email, Instagram or our enquiry form.
  • Website data: basic device and browsing information (such as IP address and pages viewed), collected through cookies. Non-essential cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Why we use it

  • To take payment, gift-wrap and deliver your order, and handle returns (to carry out our contract with you).
  • To reply to your questions and keep you updated about your order.
  • To keep the shop secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests).
  • To keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
  • To send you marketing emails only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • If you accept cookies, to measure and improve our ads (your consent).

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which runs our shop, checkout and payments.
  • Royal Mail (or another courier), which receives your name and address to deliver your order.
  • Advertising partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, only if you accept cookies.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. When they do, they use approved legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Order records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.

Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to limit or stop using it, withdraw your consent, or ask for a copy to move elsewhere. Email contact@asteyltd.com and we’ll reply within one month.

Children
Our shop is not aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect children’s information.

Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
